PARKSVILLE, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA, January 15, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The numbers are in, and Canadian spa and wellness lovers have spoken: Spas of America, the No. 1 spa and wellness website, has unveiled its annual list of the Top 50 favourite spas in Canada. The annual ranking is based on consumer preferences on its website.

Vancouver Island’s Grotto Spa, Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort, Parksville, British Columbia, regained the top spot as the leading spa in Canada for 2018. Second place was last year’s winner, The Spa at White Oaks Resort, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. Ontario spas also captured third and fourth places with Collingwood’s Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain and Toronto’s Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie Paris. Alberta’s The Spa at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge completed the top five.

“2018 was a healthy year for the Canadian spa and wellness industry,” says Vancouver-based Spas of America president Craig Oliver. “British Columbia and Ontario had the most spas in the Top 50 Canada Spas of 2018 with 20 each, Alberta and Quebec had four spas, and two were in Saskatchewan. Two new spas opened in 2018: Rossland, BC’s Spa Terre, The Josie Hotel, and Elora, Ontario’s Elora Mill Hotel & Spa.”

“I am very proud of our team at the Grotto Spa for their dedication, pride and commitment to our guests,” says Tigh-Na-Mara’s general manager, Paul Drummond. “Our tranquil forest and oceanfront destination resort and spa offers our guests a variety of opportunities to relax and reconnect with nature and themselves. We sincerely appreciate our long-standing partnership with Spas of America and this esteemed recognition from their viewers.”
