LAS VEGAS, NV, UNITED STATES, September 3, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- On May 1st, 2018, Julio Garcia, MD, owner of the Regenerative Medicine Institute of Nevada, was elected by the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation (ASERF) as their next President. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, ASERF’s goals to utilize independent, unbiased research and advanced tools to enhance the effectiveness and safety of aesthetic medicine is exemplified in their selection of Dr. Garcia.

As President of ASERF, Dr. Garcia’s main initiative is to support cutting-edge technology in order to pave the way for new discoveries such as bench research to move aesthetic plastic surgery further into the next generation. ASERF’s proposal to enable more aesthetic surgeons to contribute to the field will open up the possibilities for a wider range of prospective solutions using outreach to expand and improve aesthetic medicine. By working with ASERF leadership, Dr. Garcia will develop mentorship programs and courses for individuals with the drive to conduct formal research. Through examining the protocol of aesthetic procedures, he plans to continue ASERF’s efforts to enhance and improve safety parameters.

Dr. Garcia stated, “It is an honor to be President of ASERF in 2018. ASERF has grown over the last 25 years as my own private practice has over 30 years, almost in lockstep. The direction, education, and opportunities that ASERF now offers its members have grown considerably along with the sophistication of aesthetic surgery worldwide. I look back at the procedures and technology I’ve used throughout my career and am amazed at what I’ve been able to employ thanks to ASERF’s research. I am thrilled to be a part of the foundation as we now enter a new and exciting chapter for ASERF and further expand its research and impact on the specialty.”

Barry DiBernardo, MD, Immediate Past-President of ASERF, said that “Dr. Garcia has made impressive contributions to the aesthetic plastic surgery specialty in practice and through his philanthropic efforts. He is an advocate for the advancement of safety and education— an excellent leader for ASERF as we head into our 25th year. Dr. Garcia’s humanitarian service and dedication to the specialty are an admirable combination that I am sure will lead ASERF to resounding successes in the year to come and beyond."
