Sheer looks were trending in a major way on the iHeartRadio Music Awards red carpet on Monday in Los Angeles. The style, a ubiquitous trend on several awards show red carpets over the course of the last several years, was given a unique spin by such stars as Benson Boone and Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser.
Ahead, WWD breaks down the sheer looks that appeared on the red carpet.
Nikki Glaser

Glaser opted for a shimmering look. The 2025 Golden Globe Awards host, who’ll return to host the 2026 ceremony, styled a look courtesy of Stella McCartney. The sheer, sleeveless dress featured a high-neckline and allover glittering embellishments. Beneath the sheer dress, Glaser wore a metallic silver bandeau bra and high-waisted short-shorts.
Benson Boone

Boone also went sheer with his look on the red carpet. The singer styled an all-over lace embroidered button-up top with a sharp, cream-colored collar that coordinated with his high-waisted pants.

Cheryl Burke got fired up with her monochrome ensemble. The former “Dancing With the Stars” pro styled a sleeveless red minidress with elements of fabric ruching and sheer bodice at the high neckline. Burke’s look was paired with bold red tights and a pair of pointed-toe stilettos.
Jenny McCarthy

Jenny McCarthy styled a sheer dress courtesy of Genny. McCarthy’s sleeveless halter dress featured a sheer, gold fabric with a cowl neck. The dress also featured an ornately designed fabric on the front of the look.
The 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards took place on Monday at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The event celebrated the most-played artists and songs on iHeartRadio platforms during 2024. Hosted by LL Cool J, the event was broadcast live on Fox, featuring performances from top artists such as Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, GloRilla and Gracie Abrams. Honorees included Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift, Nelly and Gracie Abrams.
