Viewers were left confused during last night's Dancing With The Stars finale as presenters Jennifer Zamparelli and Doireann Garrihy issued an apology on air after a blunder.

Judge Karen Byrne was overcome with emotion after Rhys McClenaghan and Laura Nolan took to the stage and blew everyone away with their dance to Benson Boone's Beautiful Things.

Rhys included some impressive gymnastic details as the Olympian flipped around the stage during the routine, leaving judges and viewers at a loss for words.

In her excitement, Karen suffered a humorous slip up, as she said: "Oh my God! Who am I to comment on you flipping around the place? Sorry, do you want to come up here next year?

"Rhys and Laura, what a way just to finish — that was just feckin’ beautiful."

However, after the judges finished commenting on Rhys and Laura's performance, Jennifer issued an apology for anyone who was offended by Karen's use of the word "feck".

"We’re all very excited here in the ballroom and I just want to say if anybody was offended by some bad language, we do apologise," the presenter said. "We’re very excited, aren’t we guys? It is the final and it is an amazing night."

However, viewers were left astounded by the "nonsense" apology as they felt there was no need to say sorry for Karen's language.

"Having to apologise for saying “feckin” on Paddy’s Weekend of all weekends," one viewer said on social media.

Another agreed: "Apologising for a “fecking” ?? What have we become???"

"Nonsense. it’s not even a swear word," a third noted.

Another said: "Irish telly is so miserable why are you apologising cuz someone said ‘feck’."

Rhys and Laura were the pair to come out on top after the nail-biting final, but they both said they would have been happy just to make it to the final.

"We had a chat before the results were called out and we said we should both be so proud of ourselves, we're so happy no matter what happens," he told RSVP after their win. "But that of course was the cherry on top. We were both super proud before even the results were called out, but then of course to be named Dancing With The Stars champions 2025 is just amazing."
