A clip of an officer dancing during a parade in Coventry has gone viral after it was uploaded to TikTok this month. The clip shows the parade on the move through Broadgate, with the officer singing and dancing with others taking part.
The individual who captured the video and shared it online described it as "heatwarming" and says moments like this goes a long way towards improving relations between communities and the police.
LadeyV who uploaded the video, said: “It was truly heartwarming to see law enforcement engaging with the people in such a positive and uplifting way. Moments like these strengthen community bonds and foster mutual respect. I thought this is the kind of community policing that makes a real difference. Because the Ghanaian community in Coventry has been excited and talking about it ever since. It shows a different side of the Police that we don't always see.

"We often see police as serious and unapproachable, creating a stigma around them. But watching this officer dance and engage with the community showed a different side, one that’s fun, human, and welcoming. It’s a great reminder that the police can connect with people beyond just enforcing the law, helping to build trust and stronger relationships."
Since being uploaded on 7 March, it has almost 390,000 views, over 40,000 likes, more than 500 comments and over 4,000 shares.
The parade was to mark Ghanaian Independence and celebrate contributions made by the people of Ghana who have made Coventry their home. The same day the nation's flag was also raised at Coventry City Council House.
