Kings-Pelicans pick
The final playoff spot in the Western Conference is on the line tonight in New Orleans when the Pelicans host the Sacramento Kings.
New Orleans is a one-point favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook, and I don’t have any good guess on who will cover now that Zion Williamson is out. However, I do like the over of 210.5 total points.
The Pelicans won all five games against the Kings this season, winning four of those matchups by double digits. Williamson’s absence looms over this game, though, especially after he scored 40 points against the Lakers on Tuesday before leaving with an injury. Brandon Ingram will need shoulder a larger bulk of the scoring load with Williamson out.
I like the over because both Sacramento and New Orleans averaged over 115 points per game this season, so it would not be surprising if one of these teams got to 110 points tonight. Plus, all five of the regular-season games went over 211 total points, and sure, some of that was due to Williamson’s efforts, but it still shows that these teams can score on one another. New Orleans also reached at least 127 points in four of those five games.
