JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Take some time to unwind with friends, family or yourself this weekend. Below you’ll find a list of some fun events going on this weekend (April 19-21) around Mississippi.

Central Mississippi:

Moonlight, Music and Meteors – Jackson – Friday

  • Enjoy a night under the stars with the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra. Guests may also visit with area physicist, astronomers, and NASA Solar System Ambassadors during the Lyrid meteor shower!

Rock the Runway 2024 – Jackson – Friday

  • The event will be hosted by Gary with the Tea from The Rickey Smiley Morning Show and On Air Radio and TV Personality Tambra Cherie. This will be a night of fun, fashion, music and more!

The Disco Stranglers – Jackson – Friday

  • The Disco Stranglers are an Eagles Tribute band specializing in the performance of the entire Hotel California album from start to finish as the main focus of our shows.

Live at Five – Natchez – Friday

  • Live at Five is a free, family-friendly biannual concert series held in the spring and fall at the Bandstand overlooking the Mississippi River.

Friday Nights at Milepost 89 – Clinton – Friday

  • Crooked Creek String Band, a four-piece band that plays Bluegrass, Americana, and a variety of other musical genres, will perform.

Dinner & A Movie: Paw Patrol – Clinton – Friday

  • The event will be on the brick streets and will start at sunset. Dad’s Dogs will be the food vendor of the evening.

Movie Under the Stars – Madison – Friday

  • There will be a screening of Disney’s Finding Nemo in Liberty Park. They will have popcorn, water, glow sticks, and more!

Food Truck Friday – Jackson – Friday

  • This will be a multi-vendor event that will allow the food truck community to come together and provide good food.

Writing With Nature Workshop – Jackson – Friday

  • Tammy Greer, folk artist, native plant advocate, and University of Southern Mississippi professor, will lead a guided nature walk through the Belhaven Mountain Bike trails highlighting native, culturally significant plants, and the stories behind them. After the walk, visitors will come to EWHG for refreshments and a writing prompt.

Fleet Feet Coffee Run – Ridgeland – Friday

  • The group usually makes a large loop around the area. After the run, the first round of coffee is free on Fleet Feet!

Vicksburg Arts & Music Festival – Vicksburg – Friday and Saturday

  •  There will be a Pop up shop with a variety of vendors and a Visual Arts exhibition featuring regional artists displaying and selling their one of a kind art.

Allison’s Wells Quilt Guild Spring Show – Canton – Friday and Saturday

  • The Allison’s Wells Quilt Guild is proud to present their Spring Show featuring the beautiful works of Belva Cauthen.

Spring Pilgrimage – Natchez – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The Historic Homes of Natchez will host tours until April 28, 2024.

Natchez Concours D’Elegance – Natchez – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • There will be food, drinks and good music!

Attack of the Bloodsuckers – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • Through 13 icky exhibits, guests learn the what, why, who, and when of how parasites live, work, and play an important part in our ecosystems.

Flags from Mississippi – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The exhibit features 20 flags made from a variety of fabrics, such as wool and silk. Some were sewn by hand. Highlights include an original Magnolia flag, adopted in 1861 as the first official flag of Mississippi, that has been saved by conservators after it became severely fragmented.

“Thank You Please Come Again” Exhibit – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • Thank You Please Come Again features twenty-two photographs that document photojournalist Kate Medley’s ten-year journey through the heart of the American South.

What Became of Dr. Smith – Jackson – Saturday and Sunday

  • What Became of Dr. Smith, is a large-scale, panoramic narrative painting by contemporary artist Noah Saterstrom. The exhibition delves into the life of Saterstrom’s great-grandfather.

Blooming by the River – Jackson – Saturday and Sunday

  • Featuring presentations from Felder Rushing, Susie Person, Ralph Null, Jim Del Prince, Brenda and Bethany Zerby of Moreton’s Flowerland, and Moniqué Renée, The Floral Anthologist.

Bougie Brunch – Jackson – Saturday

  • The event will feature live cooking stations curated by Chef Phillip Brown and his culinary team. Attendees will also be treated to two captivating live performances, including the soulful melodies of Kerry Thomas and the infectious energy of The Red Sample band, all the way from Atlanta, as well as DJ Freddy Lee.

Southern Soul Fest Weekend – Jackson – Saturday

  • The event features three-time Grammy Award winner Bobby Rush, the Hitmaker Omar Cunningham, Funky Forty Arthur Young, West Love, Jay Morris Group, and Derek the Change Man Smith.

Bluff City Block Party 2.0 – Natchez – Saturday

  • An All-Day-Long Spring Celebration of the Arts. Live Music ranging from solo Acoustic to Full band performances with a sprinkle of Standup Comedy in the middle!

Dog Days of Summer – Jackson – Saturday

  • The event will include food, a petting zoo, face painting, building projects, games, a pet parade, and a silent auction. The CARA staff will also offer microchipping for your pet.

Vicksburg National Military Park Free Day – Vicksburg – Saturday

  • In honor of National Park week, visitors can enjoy free admission at the Vicksburg National Military Park.

Walk MS 2024 – Pearl – Saturday

  • Whether you live with MS, love someone who does, or are a part of the wider community, you can proudly display your role in the movement and be celebrated for the important part you play.

Fondren Urban Ultra – Jackson – Saturday

  • The Fondren Urban Ultra is a 12 hour timed road race for individual runners.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes – Jackson – Saturday

  • This march empowers men to join the efforts of women by literally walking in high heels to make our communities a safe place to live.

Youth Spring Fun Walk/Run & Health Fest – Byram – Saturday

  • The event will be held at Lakeshore Church.

Pilates on the Green – Ridgeland – Saturday

  • Club Pilates in Ridgeland presents Pilates on the Green to celebrate Earth Day! All friends, family and pets are welcomed!

Main Street Movie Night – Pearl – Saturday

  • This movie night will feature “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.”

Vicksburg Skate Park Event – Vicksburg – Saturday

  • Participants will sign up to compete in skateboarding games to win cash and prizes. Live music and food trucks will be on site.

Record Store Day 2024 – Jackson – Saturday

  • There will be special releases, guest DJs, and giveaways.

Spring Trash Bash – Jackson – Saturday

  • The City of Jackson Solid Waste Division will be hosting our first Trash Bash Kickoff Event. They will focus on cleaning and beautifying the West Capitol Street corridor. 

Mississippi Farmers Market – Jackson – Saturday

  • From persimmons to peaches, from bok choy to butter beans, the Mississippi Farmers Market is the one place to go for the freshest fruits and vegetables that are grown in the state.

Natchez Farmers Market – Natchez – Saturday

  • Every week there will be live fresh produce, baked goods, fresh dairy, and arts and crafts all from local growers and artists.

ASU Jazz Fest – Vicksburg – Saturday

  • The 41st Annual Alcorn State University Jazz Fest will be held at the Vicksburg Convention Center’s Exhibit Hall. Featuring the multi–Grammy Award winner Randy Brecker Quintet.

Symphony in the Community Concert – Jackson – Sunday

  • From the enduring classical roots of Saint-Georges, Coleridge-Taylor, and Tchaikovsky to the popular contemporary strains of Alexis Ffrench, this program’s impressive lineup puts a fresh spin on spring.

Mulberry Brunch – Vicksburg – Sunday

  • The brunch includes a variety of delicious dishes like Chicken and Waffles, Shrimp and Grits, an Interactive Waffle Station and more.

The Revivalists – Hattiesburg – Friday

  • This all-day event includes a variety of lectures, masterclass, exhibits held by top trombone experts and performers.

  • The Hattiesburg Pocket Museum has a new exhibit every month, so be sure to head downtown for a small surprise!

Downtown Crawfish Jam – Hattiesburg – Saturday

  • The event is one of several fun neighborhood events hosted by the Hattiesburg Historic Neighborhood throughout the year and serves as their largest fundraiser for the Walthall Foundation.

Community Bank Crawfest – Laurel – Saturday
